My paintings and drawings are inspired by the mountain landscapes of the French Alps where I am fortunate to live and paint. The surroundings are big and often dramatic although the paintings dwell on the details as much as the wide vistas. The streams, river valleys and forests feature as subjects as much as the big peaks. I travel a lot in the mountains, on foot, on bike, on skis and the paints, sketchbooks or camera come along to study and record the things I see. I find the process of drawing and painting the landscape is immersive and a way to slow down, absorb and experience places in a unique, meditative way. Hopefully the paintings communicate some of that experience as well as the fabulous alpine landscape that they come from.
